Mystic Flag Committee Meeting Archives

June 14, 2022


The meeting was called to order by President Eric Garofano at 8:25 AM.


Fr. Richard Myhalyk offered the Invocation.


Minutes from the last Annual Meeting held on June 14, 2021 were distributed as part of the day's agenda. There being no corrections, the minutes were accepted as presented.

Treasurer Adam Strelczuk distributed the Annual Treasurer's Report for the period June 1, 2021 to May 31, 2022 which are included as part of these minutes. The report was approved as presented.

Flag Captain Richard Dussault reported that new construction near Sift will require us to drill new holes for the street flags.


MFC recognized Scout Troop #76 and #200 and thanked them for putting the flags out on Rte. 1. A donation of $500 to the Scout Troops was made by the MFC. The Scout Master from Troop 76, said that the scouts loved putting the flags up on the holiday. They have plenty of camping trips planned and the Eagle Scout program is flourishing.


Eric Garofano reported that we have approximately 700 members of the MFC.

Eric Garofano reported on the Endowment and shared the report with those present.

Nominations Chairman Debra Neuman presented the list of nominations for officers for the 2022-23 year which was approved as follows:

  • John Kennedy, MFC Vice President
  • George Sylvestre, MFC Vice President
  • Jonathan Greene, Secretary
  • Adam Strelczuk, Treasurer
  • Rich Dussault, Flag Captain
  • Jamie Densmore, MFC Membership Chairman
  • Debra Neuman, MFC Nominations



Eric Garofano thanked those in attendance, S&P Oyster Co., Mystic Seaport, Mystic Shipyard, Custom Marine Canvas, Troops 76 and 200, Densmore Oil, Town of Stonington, Mystic Rotary Club, Mystic Women’s Club, Mystic Lions Club, and Mystic Knotwork for their contributions to the MFC.

Benediction was offered by Fr. Richard Myhalyk.


The meeting was adjourned at 8:38 AM
